Australia isnā€™t Silicon Valley.

The streets arenā€™t packed with world class technical talent desperate to build the future.

So trying to find a cofounder can be frustrating.

Your friends are happy with their corporate jobs and look forward to the weekends.

You want to look forward to the weekdays.

Youā€™re ambitious, you crave intensity, and you know thereā€™s never been a better time to start a company.

Introducing On Deckā€¦

On Deck is a dinner series and evolving community of world class entrepreneurs who are about to start or join their next venture.

What started as a series of small dinners three years ago in San Francisco has blossomed into a global network of over 70 events in 12 cities, a community of 3,000+ past attendees who have founded ~25 companies (that we are aware of) with people they met at events ā€” including Voiceops, Carrot, Spring Labs, Tia, Modern Fertility, and raised upwards of $50M.

On Deckers have connected with co-founders, investors, and first hires ā€” and helped countless others by making introductions, brainstorming ideas, and being a sounding board through the process of starting up.

Arriving in the Land Down Under šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗšŸØ

I arrived in Sydney in December 2017 excited to explore the emerging tech community here. While scrolling through Medium one day I saw this:

ā€¦and immediately recognised a way to build a community of like-minded people in my new home town.

Fast forward a year and On Deck Australia is officially off the ground. Weā€™ve hosted dinners in Sydney and Melbourne and already have a community of hundreds of repeat founders, designers and developers looking to start their next thing.
